Bike/Walk Mississippi, the Hernando Bicycle Club, and the City of Hernando
are co-hosting a Bike Friendly Communities Workshop on Monday, December 15th
at 5:30 PM at the Gale Center(located on the corner of Elm and South Streets
in Hernando). The workshop will be led by Jeff Peel, who is a Program
Specialist with the League of American Bicyclists
The program will provide resources for becoming a more bike-friendly
community and receiving Bike Friendly Certification. This is
a collaborative workshop intended for all kinds of community leaders
including city planners, elected officials, advisory boards, business
leaders, members of cycling groups, education folks (PTA members, school
officials) and anyone else who might be
interested in or benefit from improving the bike-ability of our community.
The workshop is designed to be the catalyst for a dramatic
improvement in conditions for bicycling in Hernando.
The workshop will last 2-3 hours. This is a huge opportunity because the
workshop is being donated by Bike/Walk Mississippi and The League
of American Bicyclists. Hernando is the first city in Mississippi to
co-sponsor this workshop.
If you can attend, please RSVP directly to me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Again, the workshop will be Monday, December 15th at 5:30 at the Gale Center
